It's summer. Perhaps you have a beach house or would like to give your home a summer beach house look? I have coined the term Coastal Chinoiserie for a more sophisticated summer beach house style. Here are some of its key elements -

I bought a beautiful pair of antique coral engravings in a gorgeous turquoise blue a while back and finally decided to frame them for my "pagoda bedroom." I picked them up from the framers yesterday and I think they add a great summery vibe to this space. Here also are more lovely examples of combining blue and coral, a perfect combination with Chinoiserie.

I love the console vignette below that I posted on here and I have recreated it in easy to find and budget friendly pieces. This is a great look for an entryway, living room or dining room with its mix of Chinoiserie, lucite, and organic elements - perfect for a beach house or any home for the summer. It all adds up to about $1,000.
