I don't do that much talking these days.

When perusing the Ark Clothing sale, I came across this cute green shoulder bow dress, which I've slightly fallen in love with, and the sale price makes it just that little bit more tempting! This light weight, loose fitting dress is so versatile, I've teamed it with an over-sized light denim shirt from Topshop for day wear, and a grey boyfriend-fit blazer also from Topshop for a slightly more sophisticated evening look. ( Cheaper alternatives can always be sought in Primark!)

I feel this dress would be complimented with the WRJ Bella necklace - the antique brass tree charm holds a small bird perched in it's branches and is hung with a small heart and coral rose cabochon. It hangs from a mid-length chain which would look great with the scoop neckline and the design is great for the summer- regardless of the rain! To complete the outfit, use a pastel nail varnish - I've selected Model's Own Buff Pink, Fuzzy Peach or Slate Green depending on your mood! (It would also look great finished with a vintage brown belt). I hope you like. x

A new brooch design, soon to be coming to WRJ! The delicately engraved silver-tone locket is hung from a bow brooch, with small heart charm and frosted white saucer gem. What do you think?? x

The cream ring I made the other day seemed fairly popular - so here are a few other alternatives! I haven't had a chance to put them on the website yet, but if you would like one, feel free to email me at info@wallpaperrose.co.uk . Each ring is £4.50.

This is a necklace I've adapted for my cousin's birthday - I really hope she likes it. She loves turquoise and purple- or at least, used to... so here's to hoping it goes down well. Her birthday is at the weekend, so I'll let you know. It's an adaptation of Delilah on the WRJ website... I wasn't ever 100% happy with the Delilah design, but now I've changed it for Jo I have a new found love for it! I don't often wear silver, especially sterling silver, but I may just have to make myself one of these! x

I wanted to introduce you to the rather wonderful world of illustrations by Miss Anna Casey.

I consider myself particularly lucky in personally knowing the lady in question and there are very few people I consider to be as creative as she! (I still have a ceramic espresso cup in the shape of a light bulb, adorning my shelf that I guilted her into giving me because I loved it so!)

Having recently graduated from the University College of Falmouth studying Illustration, Anna predominately works with stencils and monoprints, favouring black and white tonal work. She exquisitely draws with a knife to create poignant and striking imagery, that despite being bold in impact retain a delicacy. I absolutely love the first image I've used here, the contradiction between the rabbit and the fine feathery leaves is beautiful. She also has a wonderful book cover design for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland on her website.

If you would like to see more of Anna's work- and trust me, I think you do - please click here.
And for all your illustratory needs, feel free to contact her here.

Sweater Face

I think only I, in the height of summer, could be desiring jumpers!!

Sadly I have a tendency to gravitate towards knitwear, whatever the weather - but these two are my current favourites. I apologise for the terrible image quality of the sweaters in question - I could only achieve crappy screen shots! The first is a cream knit from River Island, the detailing is lovely and it just looks super cosy. I think due to the nature of a jumper you can really go chunky with your jewellery, so I've teamed this vintage style top with Nelle. Nelle is a gold-tone telephone charm, with magnetic receiver, hung with a small heart and dark green Swarovski crystal.

The second sweater - the Inkdale Sweater - is from Jack Wills, and also available in Navy. I actually love Navy currently currently, but I have a tendency to live in dark blue jeans, so I think a lighter knit would make a great contrast. I don't often go into Jack Wills - I feel far too 'uncool' to frequent it, however I did yesterday and it was much as I could do not to leave the shop with this jumper it was that soft! I resisted trying it on, partly because it was hot, but mainly because it might have pushed me to spend money I don't have! Again I've teamed this with a heavier necklace, Reike. Reike features a large key charm, hung with small rocking horse, pink rose cabochon and small purple Swarovski crystal. I think both looks would be great with jeans and flats, worn in cooler summer evenings, or curled up, cosy in the winter!

Anyway, I've plagued you with enough blog posts today! I hope you like them, as ever I would love your opinions and jewellery suggestions! x

Sally Mann

My God.
I think it's about time for some photography!

If you don't know the work of Sally Mann, please please take the time to check it out! Mann produces stunning black and white photographs using a large format camera. Her show The Family and the Land is currently being exhibited at the Photographers' Gallery in London, until mid September, though I'm hoping my partner in crime and I might be able to go and visit it this weekend! I was mortified that I missed her talk when the show opened in June, sadly it was due to my own stupidity- I thought it was in July, so missed out on getting tickets.

Mann was rocketed to prominence with her body of work, Immediate Family (1984-1994) an intense series of intimate portraits of her three, then young, children. The work was considered controversial due to her unique portrayal of children.

Her books are captivating - (I only actually own Immediate Family, this is possibly a situation I may need to rectify!) so I can only imagine how beautiful her prints will be in real life. I've actually got a renewed sense of excited at the thought of going to see the show! If you would like to see the work yourself, the Photographers' Gallery is situated on Ramillies Street, just off Oxford Street. Though be warned- it's closed on a Monday... I've made that mistake before!
