MODELS OWN Facebook Sale!

Posted by sew4tejhtr6ier Selasa, 10 Agustus 2010 0 komentar

The lovely Models Own, who I frequently use in my outfit posts are having a facebook sale! They're giving a massive 50% off orders for their facebook fans (making them so very very affordable).

And the only catch? They want to get to 10,000 'likes'.

So to be able take part in the sale, all you have to do is join their facebook page. The more people you add, the sooner the sale will arrive!

Models Own stock an amazing range of nail varnish colours, as well as make for eyes, lips and face, so if you want to check out their website, click here.
And if you want to become a fan/ like their facebook page, click here.

I'm particularly excited about some of their new nail colours... I only hope their release will coincide with the sale! x

COMING SOON to Wallpaper Rose Jewellery... The Ingrid Bracelet, also a finer version of 'Ruthie', photos soon...

Rather unbelievable yesterday the Wallpaper Rose Facebook page suddenly got to and then surpassed 1000 fans! We've been about 50 away for weeks and I've been running the 'we will give something away when we get to 1000 fans' competition for months, but without any warning it happened yesterday! I decided seeing as it was somewhat of a milestone to give away a goodie bag - including the Ingrid bracelet, and two necklaces. Helen Pryboda was randomly selected from all the fans and I'll be posting her prize tomorrow, I really hope she likes it.

I'm really overwhelmed by all the support for Wallpaper Rose in the last year and I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone. x

Super Superficial

Although Paul and John haven't spoken since, they often cast their minds back to the warmth of that embrace at Jenny's infamous party.

Jean [stroking his chin]: Ah, un bateau perdu sur la mer.

John [incredulous]: Don’t be so absurd! It’s a boat lost at sea.

Mildred was happy that she had landed the air traffic control job at Terminal 5 but she was beginning to regret embellishing her CV to read “champion of the skies.” Thankfully, her boss had been too busy with the swarms of protestors to notice.

People always talk of how clearly you can see the stars from the Bolivian Salt Flats. John was shocked into silence when he began to see the constellations of aggressive predators from the animal kingdom

It wasn’t quite the answer the recruitment consultant was expecting, but she had to admit that it probably was an accurate summation of her candidate’s personality.

Air Commander Victor Roger kept his side of the bargain by remaining as still as possible as he sat for his portrait. However, Alberto the artist found it very difficult to keep his brush steady given he was strapped to the wing of a jet fighter and subject to extreme g-forces.

Buzz began the press conference by announcing: “I can finally reveal that there is life in space. And judging by the artefacts I recovered, displayed here before you, I can also reveal that life is rubbish out there too.”

Daniel, the modelling agent, struggled to find the right words after being presented with this application for "family" work. In the end he settled for: “there’s certainly a look. If we have any shoots requiring gypsies and stiffs, I’ll be sure to call.”

Super Superficial is a great little shop that sells amazing, really individual tees, hoodies and sweaters. Based in Covent Garden and Carnaby, London (they also sell online) they use designs from Artists across the globe, featuring quirky ideas and designs.  They also encourage the public to send in their own illustrations for consideration to be made into t-shirts.

I bought the 'I Hate Fancy Dress Parties' tee for my boyfriend about a year ago and he still loves wearing it. It really is refreshing to find somewhere that doesn't churn out mass, commercial designs that saturate most clothes shops. They've recently relaunched their website and I believe they've re-designed their stores as well, so I can't wait for my next trip to Covent Garden to check it out. They also house Gallery 7 downstairs, which every so often hosts a show. I was lucky enough to see 'I married a toyboy' Convict by Louise Zergaeng Pomeroy last year, which was fantastic.

If you're in either the Covent Garden or Carnaby area of London, I urge you to go and check either of their shops out, or if not take a look online here for some really exciting t-shirts.

PS I completely forgot to mention how much I love the little stories that go with each design!

This is Pouring Rain (Surprise)

My boyfriend, who is perhaps the loveliest person I've ever been lucky enough to know, took me completely by surprise and gave me the beautiful Stolen Thunder brooch I mentioned a couple of weeks ago! It was entirely unnecessary, unprovoked and lovely.

And I haven't stopped wearing it since.

I've put up a few pictures, I apologise for the terrible quality, they were taken in photo booth!

Also, you may or may not know, but I have a somewhat strange connection/ attraction to umbrellas as I've spent the better part of a year photographing them for my Degree. (Yes kids. You can go to University and photograph umbrellas - apparently it's allowed.) So it seemed appropriate to show you a few of those. (Hence the appropriate-ness of the brooch :) )

If you want to see more of my work, please click here.

Anyway, have a good evening everyone :) x

Loose Lips Sink Ships - Outfit Wednesday

Outfit Wednesday

Truly Madly Deeply Sailboat Print Sweatshirt - Urban Outfitters (£35)
Tamarack Denim Shorts - Hollister (£30)
Tabitha Anchor Necklace - Wallpaper Rose Jewellery (£12)
Turquoise Rope and Lace Headband - Little Fille (£48)
Coral Reef Nail Varnish - Models Own (£5)
Peacock Green Nail Varnish - Models Own (£5)

Hello everyone, It's been a whole week since my last post! I do apologise, I ran away to London for the weekend to see Mr Wallpaper Rose and have been a bit slack since I've been back! But here is my Outfit Wednesday post. We went to see the Sally Mann exhibition at the Photographer's gallery - which incidentally was incredible and definitely worthy of it's own post, and afterwards we went across the road to Urban Outfitters on Oxford Street. I had a mini mission - I was basically looking for a piece of jewellery with the letter 'P' on (it's a long story) but naturally you're looking for one thing and then you fall in love with another....

The other being this lovely light weight Sailing Boat design sweater! I love the simplicity of the design, both that and the colours are very reminiscent of 80's children's clothing - which is never a bad thing. So while pining for this jumper, I mentally created an outfit to share with you.

I've teamed it with Hollister denim shorts - I actually don't own any denim shorts, I wish I did but I just don't have the legs for them, HOWEVER if I could own a pair, they would be Hollister. Despite their crazy sizing system that I don't pretend to understand, they always look a really nice shape - I like the cut off rough edges. Though equally, and more likely in my case, this sweater would look great with some jeans.

To follow through with the subtle nautical theme I've used the WRJ Tabitha necklace (though this jumper does make me want to make some kind of sail boat creation!) and a rope and lace head band from Little Fille. (Again deserving of it's own blog post.) I've also suggested Models Own Coral Reef or Peacock Green nail varnish, the coral will really compliment the outfit by picking out the red of the sail boats and contrasting the turquoise however if you're wanting something a little more subtle and you're really digging the sea vibe, then the peacock green will really work.

I hope you like. x
